Airbrushing on Photoshop

In today's lesson, I have Photoshopped a model's face in order to make general facial appearance look more fashion-esque. Below are two screen shots of the model before and after and the steps and procedures that I have taken to initiate the process of using Photoshop to smoothen skin and remove spots and blemishes.

Before:

I started by using the Spot Healing Brush Tool to remove the spots, blemishes and bags under her eyes. I did this by decreasing the brush diameter that the brush was the appropriate size for the area that I wanted to cover. I then clicked on the spots once with the mouse. I repeated this until all visible spots and blemishes were removed from her face.

I then moved to the actual skin. I duplicated the layer so that I had two versions of the image: Not airbrushed and during airbrushing. I went to the Layer section and selected Duplicate Layer. I then chose the image that was prior to airbrushing . I then blurred the image by selecting Filter-Blur-Smart Blur. I used the Paint Brush tool to restore the features of the face (eyes, lips, teeth, nose and hair). This completed the airbrushed image.

Self Portrait on Illustrator

I began creating this self portrait by taking a photo of myself using Photo Booth. I then uploaded the photo onto Illustrator. I did this by pressing File and Upload on Illustrator. I then used the Pen tool to draw the basic outline and I also used the Eyedropper tool to obtain the exact shade of colour that was on my face in order to get an accurate photo.

I used the Pen tool to draw the details of my face to add more definition to the portrait, such as the lines and creases on my forehead and the different tones of blonde in my hair, as well the philtrum underneath my nose and my top and bottom lips.
