Proposal for Creative Media Production Project

Working Title

The genre of my movie will be a comedy. The movie is called Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa 2: The Sequel.

Media to be Used

The medium that I plan to use will be an A2 poster in order to promote to the upcoming film and I also believe that it will be a vital asset in creating mass popularity for it. I am advertiser my film via a poster to help improve it's overall market structure. 

Intended Audience

The intended audience for the picture range from teenagers to senior citizens (15+). This is will be because the film will be appropriate only for that group and also this is the main age group most likely to have access to social media (Facebook, Twitter, MSM, etc) and will, therefore, be able to spread the word about the film quicker.

Indication of the Style

The style of the poster will colourful, modern, comedic, and surreal. The poster will be of an image of various photos of Alan Partridge in increasingly comical and far-fetched situations, all of which will have Alan looking directly at the viewer. They will look as if they are being carried across the poster by an unseen gust of wind in an bright background overlooking the SHAPE radio studio.  The font of the title will have the words ‘Alan Partridge’ in traditional joined-up lettering and then put ‘Alpha Papa 2: The Sequel’ in yellow capital letters with a heavy black outline.

Content Summary

The content of the poster will consist of the aforementioned main image, the title, the age rating, the date of release and the names of the actors, the director, the producers and the musicians. The storyline will be that due to a large decline in listeners, SHAPE the radio station has fallen in harsh financial times and Alan Partridge has devised a plan to raise funds: a charity-sponsored talking non-stop event, at £10 an hour. Can Alan and his colleagues complete the event and save SHAPE from financial ruin?

Legal and Ethical Considerations

I will ensure that my film poster will be meet legal and ethical standards and the poster will be suitable for public viewing as the main character Alan Partridge can be quite controversial at times. All of the characters are all fictional. This is not aimed at any type of recent legal event. The poster will also not contain any material that is likely to be deemed offensive or harmful towards younger viewers.

The poster image that I have created is my intellectual property and I also took the photos of the background and foreground of the poster. The poster also abides by the rules outlined by the ASA and the CAP code that the organisation enforces and does not violate any of those rules.

The poster will also have a clear age rating on the left-hand corner of it and will be an age rating appropriate for the target audience as described by the BBFC based on the content that the film will contain.

The poster will also be ethically correct and will not contain any content, verbal or psychical, that could offend or harm people of any sections of society and will not contain any racist, sexist,  discriminatory, anti-religion or homophobic material.
